Help! I found my father’s long lost Minolta, but I know nothing about it other than the model name (SRT202). What can you tell me?

It has a 50mm 1.7 lens, further I expect it uses 35mm film.

Film photography sucked, manual light adjustments sucked, development costs sucked, carrying around 12 rolls of film sucked, it just generally sucked.

I don’t know anything about the SRT 202, but I still have an SRT 101. I don’t use it anymore because I upgraded to an X370.

Back in the stone age when I was in high school, the school had a couple of SRT201 models for the “camera club” and yearbook staff. Just a basic manually set, 35mm camera that will outlive the cockroaches. I have to agree with x-type. Film photography sucks in compared to digital photography. 12 to 36 frames on a roll of film. Hopefully it loaded correctly on the spool and sprockets. Make sure you set your f-stop and shutter speed. Focus and hold the camera still. Be sure to set the camera for the film speed, too. Then you send the film off to the lab and you hope that you actually get good prints. Either way, you still pay for blurred, under or over exposed prints.
When I got my own camera, I had a Pentax K-1000. One friend got a Minolta XM and another friend got a Nikon F3.
Now I use my smartphone. Samsung Galaxy S-3. Takes ok pictures and I don’t have to pay for processing or prints. These are the good old days!

I agree! How many dollars did I spend on blurred or over/under exposed prints. Digital is the way to go.
